Trusts and Organisations

As well as all the incredible fundraising our volunteers do, we also enjoy the support of several trusts and organisations. These grants allow us to kick start larger projects which often need a large sum of money to get them off the ground. We are eternally grateful to these trusts and organisations and equally grateful to those who put us in touch with the trusts.

The University of Leeds

University of LeedsThere are no words to thank all the students, staff and supporters enough from Leeds University. It all started with one student and in 2008 we welcomed 75! They raise thousands of pounds for us every year and we would not have achieved half as much without their support. Take a look at our Volunteer Groups page for more about how they have helped us.

The Jephcott Trust

The Jephcott Trust has been supporting charities since 1965 working in four main areas - population control, the natural environment, education and health. We received a £20,000 grant from them which has been put to use on the refurbishment of four Primary Schools in the Murchison Falls Project.

Hands of Help

Hands of HelpHands of Help have been supporting us for the last three years. They send groups from The University of Sydney, Australia after spending months fundraising and bring incredible amounts of money for us. For the first two years they worked at Bufuula Primary School, Buwagi Primary School and Kizinga St Johns Primary School all in the Jinja district. In 2007 they worked at Wanseko Primary School as part of the Murchison Falls Project. They are a small grass roots volunteer run organisation. They work to build equality, alleviate poverty, advance education and provide for the relief from sickness and disability for people living in developing countries and for disadvantaged people residing in developed countries.

The Canning Trust

The Canning Trust has been a long term supporter and recently donated money to support installing solar power for the Murchison Falls Project

The Four Acre Trust

The Four Acre Trust has been supporting us financially and was instrumental in getting the Amagezi Education Centre off the ground.
