Pre School Christmas Parties

The Ugandan school terms work slightly differently to much of the western world and they finish their academic year just before Christmas - perfect timing for a little party at each of the pre schools. For 2007 we were very lucky and an ex volunteer sent 3 very large boxes of children's clothes over. We had also received a number of parcels of pens, crayons, toys etc which we were able to give as presents to all the children. We played pass the parcel, up and over, sang songs, ate, drank and finally the kids got to open their presents!

Special thanks to Caroline, Catie, Alison and Julia who organised parties at both pre schools and ran them!

Each one of the kids at both pre schools had their faces painted thanks to the artistic skills of our volunteers!

And finally the best bit of all... present time! Children in Uganda are not as accustomed to receiving gifts as children in the west and most of them sat there with their presents still in the wrapping until we encouraged them to remove it and then there was no stopping them!
